Newbridge Wireless completes VA Hines Hospital Campus project

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of in-building project at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Chicago, IL. As the turn-key solution provider contracted by Sprint-Nextel Corporation, Newbridge Wireless designed, implemented and managed the in-building system to enhance Sprint’s CDMA and iDEN coverage in the campus. The Fiber DAS system consists of 35 remotes and 200 indoor service antennas throughout 9 buildings and 2.5 million square feet.
The size of this campus and the variety of building materials used made this project an interesting challenge for our team. The oldest of these buildings opened in 1921, and additional buildings were constructed in 1970’s and recent years. We enjoyed working closely with the hospital staff and Sprint-Nextel representatives to ensure all their needs were met, and we are proud to say we finished the job in only two and a half months without interrupting the daily functioning of the hospital.
